We all have opportunities to create a more inclusive, respectful campus climate.  One important way is to become an active bystander, and to intervene whenever we see signs of disrespect or discomfort.

Many interventions are not difficult.  Often, a simple interruption or distraction can prevent disrespect from escalating into misconduct.  It can also alter the course of misconduct that has already begun.
