Bystander intervention does not have to be complicated. These are skills you probably use already when you see friends and family in difficult situations.
The goal is for all of us to use those skills more often, in a broader range of situations. If we intervene early enough, a lot of sexual misconduct can be stopped or even prevented.
As you become a more active bystander, look for strategies that feel comfortable for you. Play to your strengths and try things out. The more often you intervene, the easier it will become. And remember, Yale has resources to help you.
